Introduction

Having been involved in the Road Transport Industry for the past 25 years, and fielding calls from everyone from large companies to small eBay businesses, I thought it was time to provide some free basic transport information.

I should point out that the info I am providing should be used as a guide and is limited to usual practises in the general freight industry.  Though I will try and cover as much as possible, I will work on providing a simple summary of various areas of general freight.

This will include rates, rate structures, freight types, packaging, delivery times, consignors and consignees etc.

I am happy to answer any queries you might have but keep in mind that I do not monitor emails 24/7 so may not get back to you immediately.

I am hopeful that small and micro businesses in particular, might garner some valuable assistance from the blog.
